Your HotEnd is the most important part of your printer

In order to extrude filament reliably, safely, and smoothly, you need a well engineered tool to do it with. Your HotEnd will need to heat up whatever filament you’re using in your printer, and lay it down consistently and precisely.

All of our hotends are expertly engineered to withstand the widest possible range of filaments, and are thoroughly tested to work in any printing conditions. Even better, if you have a specific need you can swap out any of the parts in our ecosystem.


Get to know your HotEnd

01. Heatsink

The Heatsink dissipates excess heat from your hotend, keeping your HotEnd clog-free. You’ll need a different heatsink depending on the diameter of your filament, and whether you want a bowden or direct drive setup for your printer.

02. Fan

Your cooling fan blows air over your heatsink, carrying away heat that would otherwise cause clogs.

03. Heatbreak

The heat break is the unsung hero of your HotEnd. It is essential for your HotEnd to melt filament only in the nozzle, and to rapidly dissipate heat outside your nozzle. This way, the rest of your filament can be pushed or pulled (to extrude and print, or retract and store) while solid, not molten.

04.Heater Block

Your heater block holds all the parts of your HotEnd in place and—as the name implies—transfers the heat from your heater cartridge to your nozzle and filament. Specialty heater blocks can be used for extreme temperatures, as well.


Your nozzle is the tip of your HotEnd, through which filament is actually pushed out onto your print. Depending on the diameter of your nozzle, it will be able to extrude more filament faster, or less filament but be more precise.

06.Heater Cartridge

Your heater cartridge produces the heat that melts your filament. We use the same cartridge for all our hotends. Depending on the voltage of your printer, you’ll need to select the appropriate heater cartridge.


All HotEnds have a temperature sensor of some kind to inform your printer so that it can maintain a steady heat. For typical filaments a simple thermistor cartridge will more than suffice, but if you need to print hotter you can swap in more advanced sensors.



Our flagship jack-of-all trades full-metal HotEnd. It’s suitable practically any printer, and has the widest array of upgrade options, should you need them in the future. Reliability and simplicity are V6’s main hallmarks.



A cheaper and simpler PTFE-lined HotEnd. While not as formidable as the V6, it is more than a match for basic PLA and ABS printing.


Titan Aero

The ultimate all-in-one package of HotEnd and Extruder. It can be adapted for the same range of situations as the V6, while being slightly more compact.



The best HotEnd for printing big and fast. It transfers more heat to your filament, letting you print with faster speeds or thicker layer heights. A must for large format printers.



Chimera is a compact dual HotEnd assembly, opening up the possibilities of printing with two colors or two different materials. This gives you access to paired filaments such as Scaffold and Edge, or MatX and Scaffold Snap.



Cyclops is a more advanced dual extrusion HotEnd. It allows you to print without the tricky calibration and ooze control of a traditional dual HotEnd setup.



Kraken is a beast, suitable for the most advanced users. With four separate HotEnds and a liquid-cooled heater block, you can print anything, in any color, with any range of materials. Provided you’ve got the time to calibrate it, that is.
