HeaterCore Update - Wire they blue?

TL;DR: HeaterCore sensor wires have a new (old) colour scheme and we’ve made some behind the scenes production improvements.

Those of you with a keen eye may have noticed blue thermistor cables beginning to appear on some of our HeaterCores. No, we didn’t run out of white cable! The move to blue is part of a long-term plan to make future HeaterCores distinguishable at a glance. As the Revo ecosystem continues to expand, and more HeaterCore variants are released, easy identification will become increasingly important.

We haven’t plucked the colour-scheme out of the air either; those familiar with our V6 ecosystem might remember our colour coding of cartridge-style temperature sensors. We’ve ported this standard over to our Revo range.

We have a HeaterCore identification guide which can be found here on the E3D Help Centre!

A note on production improvements

Like all manufacturers, we are always looking for ways to improve our products, specifically for production. Accordingly, we’ve been quietly and continuously making some behind the scenes production process tweaks. The wire colour change is the only visual difference among several incremental improvements.

The production tweaks guarantee increased product reliability; having ironed out all statistically significant issues we are confident to extend the warranty of any HeaterCore purchased in 2022 by 6 months. Meaning your warranty is now good for 12 months from your original purchase date.
