Assembly Guide

Warnings

  • Be aware of your electronics. Please don't work on your printer while it's turned on. We advise disconnecting from the mains during installation and maintenance.
  • Do not change the hotend whilst hot always wait to cool to room temperature.
  • Your HotEnd and your printer are your responsibility. We cannot be held responsible for damages caused by the use, misuse or abuse of our products.
  • E3D parts are intended for indoor use only, we cannot be responsible for issues caused through the operation of our products outside.

    Your upgrade kit will have the following components:

  • 1 x Bambu Lab High Flow ObXidian HotEnd 0.40 mm or 0.60mm
  • 1 x Thermal Grease
  • 1 x Bambu Lab Sock
  • 1 x Bambu Lab Heater Retaining Clip
  • 2 x Bambu Lab Bolts 

During this upgrade, you will need: 

  • 1 x 2.0mm hex key

Note:
Make sure to apply the thermal paste on the nozzle, especially where the heater and the thermistor catridge's hole are located. 

1. Disassemble the stock Bambu Lab hotend by following the official Bambu Lab guide. Carefully remove the electronics as you will need them for this upgrade. 

2. Insert the thermsitor catridge in its allocated hole, and pass the wires through their channel on the heatsink.

Note:
Make sure to apply the thermal paste on the nozzle!

Note:
High Flow ObXidian™ E3D HotEnd has a different location for the thermsitor catridge's hole compared to the stock one due to the High Flow technology.

3. Place the heater on the nozzle, and pass the wires through their channel on the heatsink.

Note:
Make sure to apply the thermal paste on the nozzle!

4. Place the Bambu Lab heater retaining clip around the heater and the thermistor wires.

Note:
Be mindful of the retaining clip's orientation so that you don't damage the thermsistor wires!

5. Put on the Bambu Lab Sock.

6. Place the fan on the heatsink and thighten both screws using a 2.0mm hex key.

Note:
Be aware of the fan's orientation, the sticker should be inwards!

7. Assemble the High Flow ObXidian™ hotend by following the official Bambu Lab guide.

Note:
Make sure to do pressure advance tuning after installing your HotEnd!
