The number of times we've had a print destroyed due to these socks is absurd.
Out of the 30 machines we have, on average 2 per week are in service because of these socks. They are just rubbish, and literally costing me thousands of dollars a month in down machine time.
Straight out of the box, they don't quite fit properly onto the extruder. They're quite loose, and once the extruder is heated up they tend to fall off.
Combine that with the fact that the silicon they are made of can't even handle the heat, and you're really disappointed. Seriously though, after 24 hours of use the socks will be visibly discolored, and become so brittle they just fall apart (Not exaggerating, they will literally fall to pieces). Really wouldn't recommend.
The fact that the community's solution to these is to literally design and manufacture our own molds, and remake them ourselves with high temp gasket maker just shows the failure for years in product development that E3D has had for it's community. Really disappointed.
