Description

Spoolworks Edge is a modified PETG filament, developed by E3D, with properties akin to ABS in terms of stiffness and impact strength, making it ideal for engineering based models and parts. Spoolworks Edge also has good layer bonding and bridging ability.

Edge is designed to be used with Scaffold, a water soluble filament.

Each Spoolworks Edge filament spool contains approx. 750g of filament

Best Material for out door usage

I just give you an idea of the Material Quality.
because our backyard tools house had a door shield that partially melted and cracked and became gray to white instead of original black, I had the idea to replace it with my own designed one.
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3790900
Then I chose the Material Spoolworks Edge Cricket Green and designed e shield with simple Arch Leave.
Now, 4 Years later, out door, summer and winter, SEE with a lot of sun per day and no shadow, it looks an feel like the day I've got it from the build plate.
What an amazing Material.
I printed with a self made Mendel I3 Clone. And it works at the first print with basic PLA Config but no Fan 240°C Nozzle temp. and 80°C Bed temp.
the surface was better than for many of my PLA Material I worked before.
Unfortunately my Edge material comes to end and I have to order more .... but Cricket green is not offers with diameter 1.75 mm ....
I hope that E3D will offer some colors like royal mail red, telephone red, Oxford racing green and cricket green for 1.75mm again.

P.S. I do love the color naming too, ... It seems to be very British ... ;-)

This is my goto super reliable filament

This is without doubt one of the easiest and most consistent filaments I have ever printed with. It looks ABS like when printed, and has similar properties when it comes to temperature resistance etc, I've used it in many places that would normally require ABS. The white is the whitest filament I have ever seen, the black is one of the blackest, Prints have a slight sheen to them which makes the colours stronger.

It prints easier than PLA, just with slightly higher temp settings. The bed adhesion on my printbite mat at 80c is insane, therefore it never curls, even on troublesome designs. It also bridges and overhangs very well if you get the cooling fan speed right.

Recently stocks of 1.75mm seem to be low and it currently only seems to be available in black or white, I hope this isn't a sign it's going to be discontinued!
