Description
High-temperature performance
The benefit of an all-metal design means the V6 can comfortably reach 300°C with the supplied thermistor. If you’d like to print at higher temperatures (up to 500°C), then you will need to use a plated copper heater block along with a PT100 or PT1000. Print standard materials such as PLA, PETG and ABS and high-temperature materials such as Polycarbonate, Ultem, Nylon and PEEK.
Easy to use
The V6 features a cartridge-style heater block, enabling a no-fuss approach to replacing both heater cartridges and temperature sensors. Replacement thermistors, PT100’s and thermocouples can be slid into place and secured with a grub screw, ensuring maintenance is simple and painless.
Precise
Our all-metal HeatBreak maintains a sharp thermal break to provide better control over filament output; improving start and stops when extruding, as well as more effective retraction, combating oozing and stringing. The all-metal HeatBreak features a refined internal surface finish to reduce extrusion force and improve the reliability of retractions.

Used a few V6 clones with some success. Decided to treat myself to the real thing ,and, WOW! The difference was immediate and dramatic. If ya printing petg or abs. Accept no compromise and use an original all metal V6. You won't regret it.
There's only an assembly guide available, so no installation guide. We expected it to be plug and play but it wasn't as easy as we hoped as there's no official mount for the ender 3 available. We ended up finding a separate mount from Thingiverse for our Ender 3 Pro 3d printer that we had to print ourselves, After a couple of weeks it clogged, so we tried to heat up the hot-end to 280C to clean it but it ended up melting the plastic PTFE tube guide which rendered it unusable. Eventually we reverted to our stock ender 3 hot-end, the v6 ended up in the bin.
Prints amazing prints but not seemingly designed for use with anycubic mega. I modded my cooler neck for the e3d heat break and block. After this it fits exactly the dimensions of the megas I gave ( I would prefer e3d heatsink but it's far too short (about 1-2cm to short))
With the adjustments made above it runs well on silk pla with retraction of 0.5mm.
If there was a variant of this for anycubic printers I would have got instead but failed to find one. Mod in mind 4 stars is what I'd give. ( I have had 2 x thus far for both my mega pro and mega m printers)
Having already experienced the lack luster performance of the MicroSwiss on my ender 5 pro. I did a bit more research and the conclusive choice kept brining me to E3D. While the price was a bit on the higher side I feel more than happy with the quality of the products I purchased.
I decided if you are going to do anything, be big and bold, your wife can only kill you once. I Picked up the 24V V6 with all the fixing, copper block pt100 ( dont do that ) pt1000, titanium heat break, high temp heater some additional heaters for other projects and a smathering of nozzle X's.
After initially not being satisfied with any printed mount I came across an aluminum mount (klemco) that also facilitated the need for cooling fan placement as they provide stl for fans etc. While I was in the process of fulling rat rigging one of the printers I also swapped out the main board (btt skr v2) and screen (btt tft5 v3), linear rails. dual gear extruder and new red steppers.
After building my custom marlin spin for all the new changed parts I set the config (500) flashed in the firmware and waited for it to heat up, I followed the instructions and tighten it in to 3nm and then let it cool down.
Changed the firmware again to 475 max and re-flashed. The very first print was a retraction tower and right out the gate not a single issue. I can not express how impressed I am with E3D products... now if only they would stock the high temp beds again I would finally get to PAEK land :)
This brought an obscure 2012 model 3D printer back to life in style. Replaced a direct drive with the bowden configuration and a beefy planetary drive. Everything worked great with literally the default settings from Repetier host. The mass is way lower than the old unit and feed rates and shake have both improved significantly. I've only use it with PLA, but I look forward to putting a roll of ABS and probably try glass filled nylon (with a hard nozzle) when I find the excuse. It's very well made (I've done my fair share of high end CNC, I know) and the results are proof of that.
Well done team, you're my new favorite vendor for hot ends!
Hi there,
This is awesome to hear! Happy printing.
Thanks,
Georgia
I wanted to spend my Anycubic i3 Mega a new hotend to improve printing quality and ordered an original E3D V6 hotend with Titanium heatbreak.
The quality of the parts is excellent!
However I'm not able to successfully print PLA (M4P, Redline, ...). The nozzle or heatbreak always clogs if retraction is used. Even with small 2,3mm for a bowden setup.
Even with a bigger coldend fan it is the same behavior. Same with the original heatbreak and different nozzles.
Otherwise it is printing fine with ABS or even ASA hence the 3 stars rating.
I now ordered some 4.1 heatbreaks to change back to a state like with the old hotend and hopefully can start printing with PLA again.
Bought this for my Ender 3 Pro and converted it to direct drive. Awesome upgrade that makes printing temps up to 285 degrees possible. Still tuning for oozing and retraction but overall very happy about being able to print more exotic filaments.
Basically I've only just gotten in to 3D printing and I've started with an i3 Mega.....as it was at a bargain price. I ordered the upgrade to the Mega S which I suppose helped out a little.
But I wasn't 100% happy with it. I've been reading articles and watching videos on the i3M and decided to firstly get a clone of the e3d V6, but when it arrived I wasn't happy with the build quality even after following a link to where people said this was the best one!
So I decided to buy the genuine item from the e3d Amazon store....the difference is like chalk and cheese!
I must've gone through several nozzles on the original hot end that came with the i3M, but since fitting the V6 my nozzle has not clogged up once or become covered in molten filaments.
The print quality is fantastic compared to the one that came on the i3M, just remember to set up correctly and run an autotune for the PID settings.
So basically don't bother with the clones and just get the original e3d one. It will save you a lot of messing about and you are supporting the company that actually made it and not the copies of it.
I bought a clone, I regretted it, I bought the original including some nozzles. No issues, no clogging, nothing.
I love you guys <3
Extrusion quality is much better, and printing parts very successfully. Much better than my old extruder, and their customer service when helping me was fantastic. I would recommend it highly to someone else.
Definitely my 3d printer's best upgrade so far.
I'm a builder from the Mendel era and after owning various J-Heads (some genuine, others turned out to be clones) I can say this together with the Titan extruder is a massive upgrade for me.
Have not had a single jam in 100+ hours printing PLA so far and it just works - no fiddling needed.
I orderded my v6 Hotend in 2016 as a replacement for the generic one and am totally happy with it. The assembly was really simple, everything worked right away and provided me much more consistent extrusions (and much more options for buying nozzles).
So far I used PLA, ABS, PET and PET-G with no issues at all.
The first issue I had was last week (after around 2.5 years) when the thermistor wire started to break. So if you plan to use that Hotend for many years, maybe just order one spare with it ;-)
Very easy to assemble, worked straight from the box, no hassle like with chinese clones, (heat break clogging, uneven extrusion etc..).
I wish I had bought this, wasted hours trying to get the "china-man" to work.
The print quality is 10/10 on a Velleman K8400.
Absolutely exc
Having listened to people saying "just get a clone" and comparing it to the genuine, there truly is no comparison. The consistency in the quality of the e3d v6 is why its my go to hotend for any 3d printer build I make.
Consider that your hotend is the bit that gets stuff done on your printer. You want the very best, want want to be confident that the 0.4mm hole is actually 0.4mm and that the threads engage properly when tightening.
You can put a price on quality and it happens to be £43.00
Fix was a breeze, after previous owner smashed hot end into hotbed. I ordered the complete hotend to avoid any other surprises (my original hot end was a hot mess ;D)
I'm glad I found this website for spare parts on my original Prusa Mk2. Very easy to install and genuine parts ensure prints come out perfect every time. No issues whatsoever now with clogging nozzles etc.
I have already placed another order for spare parts on my other printer (Prusa Mk2s) in case of future mishaps. Very happy with your services and variety of replacement and upgrade parts.
Everything was handled really well by E3D with great packaging, just a bit slow to UK --> Canada due to the hand-off process in shipments (not fault of E3D, just a heads up). Package sent out by E3D very quickly.
I use the E3D V6 in all my self-built printers. Using 1.75mm and / or 2.85mm filament in all variants (PLA, PETG, ABS, Nylon, carbon fibre) and never had any issues regarding the hotend.
All ok, good hot end and good send.
